For bushfire-affected landowners

The January 2026 Longwood bushfire had a profound and lasting impact on the communities of Fawcett, Koriella, and surrounding districts, burning through farmland, bush, and private property.

Established within days of the Longwood Bushfires, the Fawcett Hall Community-Led Recovery Hub has delivered practical, local recovery support where it has been needed most.
It has also exposed the scale of the work still left to do, such as our submission to the Parlimentary inquiry of the January 2026 bushfires demonstrates and thats what we work towards today.

COMMUNITY REACH

• Supported more than 140 fire-affected landowners and families. (as of 25 June 2026)
• Reached residents across Fawcett, Koriella, Cathkin, Molesworth, UT Creek Road, Maintagoon, Yarck, Kanumbra,Merton and surrounding districts.
• Provided trusted local coordination, advocacy, information and connection at a time when communities could not wait.

Fawcett Hall has joined forces with many local businesses, regionla businesses, indivduals, agencies and organisations in a community-led response to bushfire recovery.

We thank them all for their support, hugs and advocacy when needed.

Back at the hall……

COMMUNITY CONNECTION ACTVITIES

We have many events – all noted and registered as events on our Facebook page – so make sure you follow us.

We offer regular community dinners (potluck style—bring your own plate to share) on Friday nights at the Hall from 6pm (Winter series: Friday 26 th of June,  Friday, 17th of July; and Friday 14th of August).

HOURS

We are currently now only open *Saturday mornings from 9 am to 12 noon ( tool libary and fencing materials – by appt only) and are run entirely on volunteer hours. (*as of 27th of June)

We have received donations from around the world, and here at home in Victoria, Australia and have forged partnerships with many groups, foundations and/or organisations to be able to offer the below.

1. Use of fencing restoration equipment (wire spinners, magnetic brooms etc.) from our tool reserve (library) application can be done via FH facebook page or in person at Fawcett Hall ( 655 Spring Creek Road, Fawcett 3714 ) at opening times.

We will ask you for evidence of property connection, i.e. License, rates notice, PIC number, car rego. A referral if from case manager or from Fawcett Hall or Yarck Relief Centre/Hall (they can email contactus@fawcetthall.org.au).
